front brake issue

the other day i put i in new brake pads and rotors in the front, when i went to go move my car i would drive forward just letting off the clutch enough for it to engage. when the car would move forward i feel on the passenger front side when it reach a certain rotation that the feels like the brake is engaging without me pressing the brake.. idk what the issue is, by the way i have a 89 s13 if that helps

Sounds like a sticky piston.

Were the boots clean without holes in them before you pushed in the piston for the new pads? If they are dirty, they will catch and mess up the o-ring inside the caliper.

Jack it back up, and give it a turn. If it sticks with the cars momentum, you might not be able to turn it by hand.

Also, if you can move/wiggle/jiggle something by hand, then it's about 10x worse than it is with the cars weight/momentum behind it; keep that in mind.

sound like bad caliper , if u did change ur rotors and pads you dont need to bleed it unless u didnt do it right. :chair:

rebuild kit for the caliper. or get a new one :bigthumbu

btw.. new front calipers for s13 are like $50 buks. front are cheaper than the rear ones.

if u want try and bleed them..but i dont think thats ur problem. and if ur brakes have air in the system..it wouldnt brake at all. lol ( thats what i think cuz it happened to me. ) and i had to replace my rear calipers due to the same thing.one of them was frozen.

well il bleed the brakes anyways since its been forever since ive done that to the car and if that doesnt work il just pick up some new calipers and see if that fixes the problem

b4 u do anything, take the brake pad off and take a cheese grader to the long sides of the pad in a 45 degree angle. these sides come in contact with the edges of the rotor and can be getting stuck on a rusty spot.
