"Just thought I'd let you blokes know that I got my S12 gazelle down to a test n tune the other night here in Australia and we put down a 9.12 @ 153.4 mph. Specs on the car include factory fitted 2 litre 4 cyl FJ20 ET engine, little street cams and turbo (garrett GT35R), 5 speed manual out of a R33 GTS-T and stock R200 LSD and Z31 T half shafts. The good bits are the Link G2 ECU and the modern motorsports Z31 stub axle upgrade. All glass etc. still in the car and 2600 lb weight. The air was good so the second pass of the night we turned it up to see if there was an 8 in it, but got into a wheelstand situation and had to get out of it and back on for a 9.7 at 151. Then the last pass of the evening the track went away and we could'nt get the power down."

yeah and its faster then mazworx 1000hp s14 lol at 1/4 the cost

FJ20ET FTW

-1 for posting this like a fag.

This is not new news though, people first ran 9's in a stock trim FJ a while ago. It's a very stout motor that can take some serious abuse for giving up. In stock form though it will not last at these levels. I'm guessing no2 too.

nope no nitrous ben doesnt run N20 also hes been dipping into the 9's for a about 3 years now on that same engine I have footage from 03 when he ran his famous 9.63 @148 because i remeber that was news when I was getting into S12's around that time

Im just tried of people talking about the SR like its the best **** ever made and remind them that nissan used to make an engine that kills it in just about every way and its an iron block engine that weighs the same as a SR in turbo trim so those calling it a heavy motor are just looking for a scapegoat.

lol everything in the early 80's looked like that, actually the AE86 front suspension parts mostly work on S12's too, also the s12 was priced so much higher in power and options than the 86 it wasnt really in direct competition, the highest model ae86 was at best 120hp the s12 highest model was 190hp plus the s12 weighs alot more lol and has independant rear suspension vs solid axel (although a very good one - same as my supra)

i think that ****s a nice lil drag car.i luv old school jdm cars. get that baby into the 8's. and what ecu you using.

1. That's a built FJ so what's all this jazz about factory trim?

2. Where on earth did you read that an FJ weighs the same as an SR? Are you talking non-turbo to turbo? If so, that's a pretty lame way to "prove a point". An FJ is physically larger than an SR and has an iron block. There's no way they weigh the same. /discussion Nobody's looking for a scapegoat anyway. Finding an FJ in good shape is difficult and sourcing parts for an FJ is even more difficult. Right there are two better reasons than weight to NOT get an FJ. Unless you're building a drag car I see no point in wasting your time on an FJ. It makes FAR more sense for 99% of us to get a 6+ year old perfectly good running SR. Cheaper too.

3. Who ever said an SR was the best engine ever made? Nobody! See, I could start a thread stating 10 reasons why an S13 > S12's and title it "for all you s12 lovers" but there's no reason unless I'm starting sh*t - plain and simple. If you're just starting sh*t then you're just an a$$hole and I will remember that.

4. How is a built FJ 1/4 the cost of a built SR?

Edit:
Oh and the reason I said no2 is b/c I don't see a GT35r making the kinds of numbers necessary for a 9.1et but w/e...he could be pushing it far past it's limits. Dude should get a bigger turbo.

hes just stirring up ****....... it seemed to work.

I can imagine Dori typing every post with a blood pressure cuff around his neck

I just wanted an excuse to post the video because I was excited about it, but yes this car did cost WAY less than Mazworx's 1000hp S14

when they said factory fitted they didnt mean stock they ment that this was the original engine in the car

also only the head is larger than an SR's the block is physically smaller, since it is iron they dont have to use as much casting to ensure strength. Also as for the head being huge the head is actually pretty light for it size since it is a magnessium/alluminum alloy so in the turbo configureation ends up weighing around 364lbs

But really tony no need to get worked up over a post that I was just having fun with, im not saying everyone on this forum needs to go out and buy a FJ20et and put it in their s13's

Not worked up.

I still fail to see how the mazworx's car was WAY more expensive. They bought an old, beat s14 and do all the fab work in house. The cost difference of that s12 4 years ago what mazworxs likely paid today was probably neglegable.

Where are you getting these weights and sizes from? Is that speculation or fact?
