D1 2007 entry speed contest

BTW 208km/h is almost exactly 130mph

Also some of the other 2007 D1 footage I have seen shows some of the best guys are starting to consistently get the cars past the 'spin point'.

They are entering so early and with so much speed that they can just hold the correction and let the car rotate out of the near-spin then roll back on the throttle to continue the slide. We've all seen it before when drivers got lucky or pushed a lil too far, but now these guys are perfecting it and doing it on purpose, with perfect transition back into powerslide......

D1 is seriously on a whole different level man. 2008 is gonna be incredible.

That was fucking awesome, they look so freakin calm considering that they're one mistake away from sure hospitalization. lol

Thats what we need at Moroso. Let us start further back in the drag strip for the first turn and see who can do it and who goes in the canal.

that's just crazy...cars too all north of 450whp with sequential trannies hehe. 125mph is no joke!

D1 drivers are just the best, period. As if no one knew that. I seriously don't know how Vaughn Gittin beat the Japs twice. They must have all had the flu or something.

Anyway, Try clutch kicking at 120 mph. The car is so stable at those speeds that engine power is simply not enough to initiate the slide. 86s still clutch kick at Autopolis because they are probably going 90-100 mph, and the shorter wheelbase makes it less stable. Also most 86s don't use wings and crazy aero shit, because they simply don't enter so fast. Also, in an 86, you use a lot of weight transfer in most entries. That is why we still clutch kick. All other high hp cars, and high powered 86s use e-brake.
