Hey everybody, my car is overheating and I need to check my radiator to see if that the problem, can anybody tell me how to check my radiator?? I have a 95 240sx with a ka.

My radiator is fuct...Take the cap off and turn the car on. Let it heat up a little and see if it's flowing. If water is puddling up then something is probably wrong. Put the cap back on and let the car heat up. If you have dual electric fans, both fans should be pushing hot air. If one is hot and the other side is cold like mine is. Then your rad. isn't flowing correctly...

yea im about to do the flush. Thanks for bringing it up men!

My engine overheated due to the radiator being clogged.
I'd say to check if it's clogged drain out the radiator fluid and look straight into it. If it's clogged you'll need a new one. When you put a new one in make sure to bleed it.

Thanks for posting those LINKS JT. Way to help out! Keep it up.

As far as checking your radiator the ways mentionsed above give a bit of insight. If you have the radiator out of the car run water through it and see if it comes through rusty or clear and if it flows well.

Talk about a new radiator, just in case I ever need a new one, (I understand that I should always keep in mind that u get what u pay for!) but I hear those plastic, cheap $60 dollar radiators are no good because they deteriorate fast leading to leaks. Is this true? If it is I guess this brother should stay away from those in the case he needs a new one himself right?
