breaking a clutch in.....

so i drive for my work, about 100 miles a day, the faster i go the more money i make.....

and im putting in an sr in the next week, waiting on a rear main seal that i ordered to come in...

with that in mind i need the fastest way to break in a clutch. exedy stage 1, stock flywheel

i was thinking just driving up and down one long street pushing in and out the clutch, staying below 3000 rpms.

however i heard from an unreliable source that drifters just do a couple clutch kicks at around 5500 5-10 times and its good from there....

sounds retarded to me but can any of you vouch for either way? i know about cars a bit, but not about drifting or using its techniques to break in a clutch....

ppl call me crazy, but burning out a clutch to break it in..... not that crazy

untrue about that.
I didnt even really break my clutch in.
I pulled it in and out of this kids garage a few time, on a slight hill. Then went onto the street and made it to 3rd gear before I couldnt take it anymore and had to lay into it.
Clutch is holdin up fine.

Alot of track only cars break clutches in like this.
as you're pulling it on or off the trailer, go back and forth like 10 times so the clutch has load on it. That apparently works real well.

um I dont know if there is such a thing as breaking in a clutch on a street car.

Ive done both, ive driven 500 miles before throwing any abuse towards the driveline.

And ive dropped in a new clutch in and done a burnout in 2nd gear and multiple clutch kicks.

Up to you.

exedy are pretty solid and take abuse, but its recommended to not abuse it for first miles to be safe. id go about 100miles atleast, if you can make it 300 thats prolly most id wait on. you can go fast, just not supposed to like shift hard and drop clutch out/burnout.

I slapped on an xtd stage 3 (ebay) clutch on my sr and ripped it the first day. Has not slipped until this day...

I've never really broken any of mine in either and they have all held up just fine with no issues

yea i havent either, but i know thats not the 'recommended' thing. my exedy in my ls1 saw about 1/2 mile before we started burnouts and drifting it hahah.

stage 1 i would said take it easy for the first 300 to 500 miles (meaning dont clutch kick or shift up and down constantly)
