3sgte in a corolla

u couldnt just save me the time?

sry its just 3 in the morning dont feel like doing research

3SGE and 3SGTE are nice motors, but I'd stay with a 4AG. The 4AG fits the Corolla perfectly. I mean, if you just want tons of power, sure, go for it. But if you want to make your car a mild mannered car that you can drift, track, or autocross, 4AGE is the way to go in my eyes. Tuning the motor that comes in the car already is a little more fun for me. But I don't mind seeing a bad *** 3SGTE Corolla around, that would be sick.

what transmission do i need to do a 3s swap? Doesnt the 3s come fwd or am i just stupid...

If I remember correctly, people use a W58 transmission with a custom bellhousing. I could be wrong though. The only RWD 3S came in the Altezza, all other 3S' came in FWD form.

the is200 in japan comes with a 2.0 inline four called the 3sge. beams/highcomp...good stuff

There was never an IS200 in Japan. It was called an Altezza and the trim level that came with the 2.0L BEAMS 3S-GE was the RS200. ;)

so thers no way to have a 3s bolt up to a 4a trans? (once you hear its custom it always seems difficult)

same shizit....it's a toyota sedan with a 2 liter inline four callled the 3sge beams. right???

No. IS200's came with 1G-FE's, which are 2.0L I-6 engines. The equivalent to the IS200 is the Altezza's AS200 trim level.

Not that I know of.

you wouldn't want to attach the 4a tranny to a 3s engine. I would also suggest that u search on club4ag, but i think bladder is right about the tranny. Although i dont think its a custom bellhousing.

Ill have to ask, cause i kno ppl that have done the swap before. I always wanted a rwd 3s celica :)
