300zx Mafs Install ?

Just wondering if i were to change out my stock SR20det MAFS for a 300ZX TT Mafs would i need another igniter chip? Also is anyone good @ rewiring MAFS and setting it up on SAFC II LMK

i have talked to many ppl about doing that upgrade and never heard anyone mention having to change the ignitor chip, so my GUESS would be no...but i very well could be wrong.

WHy the hell would u need to change the ignitor, when you change the AFM?
thats like saying I have to my spark plugs when I change my oil filter!


Sorry, Im alittle stressed. the answer is no you do not have to change the ignitor.

there is no point in changing the chip. Any chip that plugs in will work. like he said, thats like saying you need to change your plugs when changing your oil...

maybe this will help with the wiring.

try to keep the wiring harness the same length as factory so there is no additional resistance added to the circuit changing the signal. Its not a big deal, but if you know about the little things while you are modifying your car it helps.

You can buy plugs for the z32 maf on ebay that make the installation fool proof...like $10

I agree, plus if you can I would solder those wires. Comes out cleaner and stronger. w/ some heat shrink.
