I was trying a new setting and most shots came out horrible...shutter speed failed, these are the ones that survived...

Good pics Bryan. I wish I could have been there. Looks like they put that trailer in the wrong place. That was dangerous.

You really want me to critique them?

1) I suck because I wasnt there.

2) Shots look good, I dont see any problems with them.

What setting where you shooting them in? Full Manual(thats what it looks like)...And what is the comment about the shutter speed failing?

I know how it is with the shutter fluttering/failing..Happend at the IRL for me. It sucks because I shot over 3gig and maybe 1 gig was good.

Yeah I didn't get the shutter speed failing comment?

Usually the camera pauses for seconds at a time when the memory card is not fast enough to save the content when using continuous shooting. At least that's what used to happen to me until I switched to 4g ExtremeIII cards, now I just fire away Medium sized Jpegs continuously without having to wait for the card to react.

I have only had problems with 1 card keeping up with me. Most of the time i dont ahve issues with the transfer between cam and card.

Only thing I could think when he said shutter was failin was the setting it was on. if it was to slow then yes, may seem like it was failing.

You peepz arent understanding. I'm talking about I want to show that the car is in motion if you see WannaBDrifter's shots you see that any car may shows movement, by not being able to see the rims because there in movement and or the background because the car is in motion. Take a look and you will know what I'm talking about, I have more shots but there all out of focus and do to that they look horrible.

Any how thanks for the comments.

Yes please...Most of my shots came out like Christie's last shot that I posted of her car showing the rear part of the 240. Thats what I mean, I have to work on what setting would the shutter go on for drifting.

That would be a focusing point not a shutter issue.

What speed were you running?
If your running a High shutter (1000+) then you wont get the blur of the wheel/background. Mostly because It will want to focus in on the darkest piece in the image *ie that black trailer*

But if your running a shutter speed of 60 with auto F. Then you would get what your getting on some of them, cars not in focus/background blurred. Due to the "shake" of your hand.

For drifting/Automotive (Rolling/moving) I shoot at 80-125. I can go lower with a tripod/monopod

Understood...PM'd.

Your shutter speed is to high, but you know this. Learn your camera. You had your panning sorta down the other day but you forgot what you did. Find out how to put your camera in shutter priority mode. You can control the shutter speed all day long. After you took your first picture you should've known your shutter speed was to fast. Not even looking at what it said but because the shutter was so quick you know its stopping motion.

Keep shooting. We'll worry about the composition after you get down panning.
