Ter-Tech event has ben cancelled

Ter-Tech

FREEDOM!
Driver
Unfortunately we pulled it too close and didn't order the insurance till Sunday, since there wasn't enough people signed up till late sunday night, friday we had 15. So the insurance company has just informed us that we have to move it again or cancell the event. I have desited to cancell it and refund everybodys money. I know a lot of you had to take time of from work, school etc.. to make it into this event and for that I'm truly sorry. This was more than likely the last event for Ter-Tech. Organizing this event was like impossible with hurricanes, insurance etc.. just nothing went our way, and now this info from the insurer. It's not their fault it is mine and mine only, since I didn't order it till the last minute. I was
99% sure that we won't get enough people to sign up that was the only reason I left it till sunday.
Once more I APOLOGIZEN for all the inconvenience this has cost anybody.

Sincerely

Harri Tervola
Ter-Tech Inc.

No as it said we cant organize events since people don't pre reg. And I don't know how to organize.

I guess on my behalf I have to apologize as well. I had to pay for 3 others and I only got the money today. Another sad day for the Florida drifting community.

I can understand where you come from though. It's sad but the Florida support is letting the drifting scene die out like this.

i pre registered for 4 people including my self, this is dissapointing to say the least. next time for any event, bump the pre registration due date 3-4 weeks before event date, live n learn. When can we expect our money to be returned?

Ter-Tech's green light was the insurance issue. They had the green light from the insurance, and the event was scheduled for this weekend. However Ter-Tech did not pay them because if they did and not enough people pre-registered, they would be paying way too much out of their own pocket for the few who paid to actually drift.

Even with 30 drivers, Ter-Tech would still be putting in a good share of money. They were hoping that it would only happen this one time, because it is the first parking lot event. But come Friday and only 15 people are pre-regged, you have to make a call. You're still $1500 under what you're hoping to have and something has to be done soon.

It seems that after contacting the insurance company now, after we are so close to the goal, they want another delay now. It gets to a point someone can only do so much for you. I cannot blame Ter-Tech alone for giving up on this. This is the insurance company's fault, it's Ter-Tech's fault, and it's our fault as well, mainly our own. Plain and simple.

i am upset too. but lets direct our frustration and see if we can make something positive come out of it.

OBVIOUSLY, there is a demand for this event to happen. If there wasnt, there is no way you could have gotten 15+ people ($1500) put forth in a matter of 2 days (saturday and sunday). The desire to have an event JUST LIKE THIS exists in south florida, it just has to be PLANNED and people have to PRE REGISTER! If the money is in the insurance companies' pockets, we dont have this problem.

From what i have gathered from harri's post, he doesnt want any part in planning another event. That doesn't make something like this in the NEAR FUTURE impossible. If the insurance had been purchased DAYS before, we would be sliding this weekend. We need some people to step up and take responsibility for getting the information that harri had and organizing it into the next event. It doesn't have to be TER TECH who does it (though that would be great). Clearly the money to cover it is there ready to be spent.

I am willing to help, i just dont have the resources to do it ALL. Does this sound like something that is even remotely possible to do or am i making light of alot of the things that go into planning an event like this?

I do not have the knowledge or resources to go after it all myself either, but if I can go after something I will. Considering I could find a small group of people with enough interest to go after everything needed to hold an event, I would gladly put time and effort to make it happen.

i quit.

next time, alot more people would pre reg if it was maybe one day. most dont have time, tires or 100$ to run 2 days. maybe if it was only 1 day more ppl would have registered

Well, I was planning on spectating the event. I am quite positive that you could have made enough money by charging 20 dollars as a spectator fee.

Frankly; ****. I wanted to see this happen like I want to get laid tonight. Hopefully the latter will still happen.

Wow, this is very disapointing.... I really thought we had pulled it out at the end.

I would be more then willing to put some time and effort into making another event like this happen if it seems possible. Please let me know if there is another effort to organize a similar event, I would like to help in any way that I can.

i second that, i got the day off so i could drive across and see this event. but it is not tertech's fault, it jus wasnt meant to happen. which is really unfortunate. i guess ill have to wait until dday to watch you guys drift.

i dont know if this will make more people pre-reg earlier or not reg at all.. i knew there was something wrong from the very beginning when Ter-Tech mentioned Gymkhana :p

i guess it was really a surprise that everyone waited for the last minute to pre-reg.. seeing as for just about every event it has been this way... maybe they just wanted to go to Atlanta instead ;-)
