i was reading this months modified mag and ran across an article that reminded me of a conversation bert and i were having so i wanted to quote it
so you guys like bert and the rest the proam level guys of our local scene could know.

Southeast drift will be bringing an all new pro-am championship series to atlanta in 2010. this five round series will enable up-an-coming drivers in the southeast region a palce to compete for and win their formula drift pro liscence.
"I am very happy with the recent developments. i cannot wait to showcase some of the immense talent in the southeast drifting scene"says marcos ruis, ceo of southeast drift."formula d is the leader in pro drifitin in the us and southeast drift is proud to be a part of it.
this looks to be a wise way to expand the drifting scene and open up the pro ranks to the throngs of talented driverson a truly nationwide basis.for more details check www.southeastdrift.com

looks like another opening for you big dogs to really show some tire shredding skills....id be happy to provide trailer and transpo to any takers who need it (you pay for gas ofcourse)

yea but all the events are in atlanta and one in tennessee. i mean it doesnt bother me because i have family up there and that wouldnt too bad of a trip. but thats a long trip to make every month. sucks the state of florida is so long.

small price to pay but if you have the skills and the car to do it ...sacrifice! no there isnt one is south florida.but its a 10 hr drive one way
one minute we bitch about no pro-am events near us
now we have one and its to far
like i said if anyone wants to do this event and needs a tow rig let me know soon and ill make the trip just for the fun of it
the april 10th event is a week away ill be at homestead for a hooked on driving event so i wont be available but i may attend the following one to check it out

im touchy when people talk about travel but....

please dont complain on a trip to georgia being a 'far trip'.... you have ProAm within a half days drive thats nice. NOPI qualifiers/events in 2007 (closest thing america had to ProAm style class) I had to goto Virginia and Texas to just attend 2 qualifiers, then as far as Cali for events. I love travelling though, I'd rather do 6 out of area events than 10 on the track I've seen 5 times before.

Only downside is the cost of course, but shit, Georgia is STILL really close... its just next door!

sorry wasnt meaning to come on complaining. i've made the trip since i was lil(mother lived in ga dad lived down here) the trip isnt bad. i'm actually planning on going to some of the events. i've talked to friends back home and we're prob gonna meet up.

btw, its a 10hr tip non towing from miami.

and i'm not trying to get in an argument. i fully see where yall are coming from, and am glad that there are more and more events to go to

yea, I wasn't trying to be all GRRRR. i know your side of it to, but yea for those who want to compete, its not far :)

u are a cool dude. nice invitation. it will really help someone. people need to help others out instead of exploiting them. good to have u on the site.

thanks man i have a thing for cars ....it could be autocrossing a yugo with a moped engine swap....it doesnt matter i just have a thing for it

as far as 10hrs non towing ..i set my cruise control to 80 mph and sail i made it to charolette from davie in 10 hrs trailering my z (yes i did some speeding ) and no im not proud of it but with 4 wheel electric brakes and sway control on my trailer its easy to go 80 ive done 90 mph in small stints and had no problems ..its not worth going that fast for a few minutes so i sail at 80
