i hope im in the right forum for this, well anyways im 15 and still workin on gettin my first car prob. within a few months, i wanted to start out with a stock 240... which holy **** is hard to find and my dad agrees and wont stop shootin me with the "your not ganna find the car you want so open your mind" so im askin all you, which cars are also good to start off drifting with? im ganna take all suggestions with an open mind, thanks alot everyone, really need some help!!!! :D

is not that hard to find. and here u have couples of 240s for sale.. if im you.i go for a s13! when u ready to buy with cash on hand. just post on WTB section and u will find something reliable to start

my first car was a s13 coupe! lol there is tons of 240's for sale on here. i say get a 240, if thats wat you want, otherwise you wont be happy. and imo as long as your not 6'3 and 270 lbs, like me... go for a miata. i love them. but i dont fit lol

just dont rush it. check local listings and web sites everyday... i did that and found what I wanted when I first built my 'track 240'. I wanted a cheap (non-running was fine) 240 with decent body shape... found one running with a broken windshield for 600! It took 4 months but I was being really picky since I wasnt ready to build it for a while anyways.

anything earyly 85-95 rear wheel drive can be cheap and drift, but some cars just arent that great from suspension design and weight of the car.

I've always wanted a Miata but I'm 6'7" so I'll never fit.
But I agree about the sc300, only thing is they are kinda hard to find in 5 speed.
Idk how much cash you have for a car but there is an s14 in the for sale section. It's stock,5 speed, in awesome condition, it's red. Go check it out!

Sc300
Cressida

those 2 are pretty damn sweet.

I don't agree, hes 15 probably doesn't have the tools or experience working on cars, with a 240sx he won't have to do any custom work he can just buy all the parts he needs.
So i say buy a 240sx theirs a ton of aftermarket parts, easy to setup and drift.

Worry about saving money. As much as you can. It's not that there's no 240s out there, it's that the drifting/240 scene has been around for a while so the majority of 240s have been modified, and the ones that haven't are owned by people that more than likely get approached once a week by a guy like you and me wanting to know if they would sell their car. That means that they now know 240s are sought after so they can jack up the price. The reality is that you can drift any rear wheel drive manual car, but the weight and balance in specific platforms make it easier to learn. I would say 240 and old Corollas are the best to start with which obviously makes them more difficult to find, but it's just a matter of having the money at the right time

So save money and spend a lot of time in for sale sections waiting for your chance.

My roomate bought a 01 mustang GT 5 speed with the cobra IRS swapped in the rear for 2800 bucks, just throwing that out there

^ do you know Ray?

I used to live in daytona for a couple years, I was like one of 3 people up there that actually slid

buy a 240, mine is completly stock ive spent my upgrade money mostly on bringing it back to its prime, and i can slide it like no buddys buisness. but ive only tried drifting this, a mustang, a tucoma, king cab dodge hemi ( that didnt go well hit a tree owed my friends dad shit loads of money ) 240 all the way
